Nick Vazquez

Chef's History

A proven entrepreneur, Nick sold a very successful upscale garment business to pursue his passion for cooking. "I like to eat well," Nick says, "especially the food of my homeland. My mother taught me that if I learned to cook, I would never go hungry. When we came to this country, both of my parents had to work long hours in order to realize their American dream. My mother would arrive late in the evening and I would sit by her side and watch her cook.  I loved watching her use spices, broil the meats and create all of my favorite dishes.  I was mostly impressed not by what she cooked, but with the passion that she cooked."


Now she sits to watch Nick cook.

Since coming to America in 1960 we have learned that maintaining strong cultural and family values are priceless testaments of heritage.
We have also learned that a strong work ethic is a key virtue to accomplishing ones goals especially in this land of opportunity.
It is in this spirit that we created Azucar so that we could share with you the essence of our Cuban Culture.
